Shopping: Icmeler has a small shopping centre

providing holiday essentials as well as many gift

and souvenir shops. The Wednesday market has

many stalls where you can search for bargains.

For a greater choice of shops take a short trip

Marmaris which has an indoor market as well as

a large number of stores. Remember to barter for

your goods and you will be better satisfied with

your bargains. Some of the best items to buy are

leather goods, carpets and silver and gold jewellery.

Activities: Regular maintenance keeps the resort clean

with the sand and shingle beach being raked daily.

There are many water sporting opportunities including

water skiing, banana boating, parasailing, snorkelling

and scuba diving. If you want a change from the beach

you can take a stroll in one of the many pleasant

gardens. Boat trips leave from Icmeler to explore the

coastline with its many coves or visit nearby islands,

or villages with historical sites. Favourite trips include

‘Cleopatra’s Isle and the waterfalls of Pamukkale with

their therapeutic waters and also the magnificent

archaeological site at Ephesus. Having a magnificent

beach, an Icmeler holiday is primarily a sun, sea and

sand destination enjoyed by many thousands of British

tourists every year.

Restaurants: Icmeler has an excellent range of

restaurants catering for most tastes. The Majestic

serves a variety of Chinese, Indian and Italian food,

while the Kingsland Chinese restaurant also serves

a typical English roast each Sunday. There are a large

number of restaurants serving traditional Turkish fare

which is very tasty and includes stuffed peppers and

vine leaves, clay-pot casseroles, kebabs and of course

feta cheese, olive and tomato salads.

Nightlife: Icmeler has many bars and restaurants but

the nightlife is low-key. It is a peaceful resort unlike

its noisy neighbour Marmaris. There are a couple of

night clubs but those who are looking for all night

entertainment must take the short trip to the next town.
