Shopping: During the summer months many well stocked

mini-markets are dotted throughout the area of Ovacik &

Hisaonu. There is a local market on Mondays just off the

main Hisaronu/Oludeniz roundabout where you will find

many bargains, there is also a fresh vegetable and fruit

market. Hisaronu is the main shopping area where you

will find ATM's, supermarkets, gift shops, and many bars,

cafes and restaurants offering both local and international

cuisine catering for every taste.  A medical centre (just

down from the Hisaronu/Oludeniz roundabout) and private

hospital services are available.

Activities:The beaches offer many opportunities for

water sports as well as boating trips to explore the

coastline and visit neighbouring islands and villages.

A Hisaronu holiday offers far more than just lazing on

a hot beach. There are sufficient different activities to

more than fill your days these leisure pursuits include

Paragliding from Babadag Mountain with the intention

of landing on the beach, canoeing and white water

rafting and paint-balling in the woods. As well as jeep

safaris, canoeing, jet skiing and the like, visitors to

Hisaronu can immerse themselves in the culture and

history of what is also known as the Lycian Coast of

Turkey. The region boasts remarkable remains from

the Lycian civilisation, including Persian, Roman and

Rhodian remains. While there another must-see site

is a bit to the south, Xanthos and Patara ancient city

ruins offers more than exciting opportunity to explore

the regions history.

Restaurants: Most of Hisaronu’s restaurants are

along the main street and there are a huge variety

serving food from around the world. You can find

Chinese, Italian, Mexican as well as a host of others.

There are of course very many Turkish restaurants

serving traditional fare which is very tasty. Dishes

include stuffed peppers and vine leaves, clay-pot

casseroles, kebabs and of course feta cheese,

olive and tomato salads. Rice dishes are also popular.

Nightlife:Hisaronu village is the centre for local nightlife

which comes alive after dark with its many gift shops,

lively bars and restaurants catering for every taste. 

Many of the hotels during the summer season offer

'Turkish Nights' with traditional entertainment.  With the

increasing resident population several bars and

restaurants now open during the winter months although

the number of days may be limited.
