PictureGubet was once known as Bodrum’s beach. Now it is a well known resort in its own right with lively nightlife, especially popular with the young. The wide, sandy beach of Gumbet Bay is ideal for every watersport imaginable. Various bars and restaurants line the waterfront while discos and international restaurants in the centre of the resort keep you going until the early hours.

If you are looking for sun, sea, sand, sporting opportunities and above all a lively nightlife, choose a Gumbet holiday. It has plenty to occupy visitors both on and off the beach and there are many ancient ruins within a short distance that are well worth visiting.

Shopping: There are ample opportunities for shopping

in Gumbet at the centre behind the beach and in the

markets. You can find all your beach essentials here,

sun lotion, towels, cold drinks and such as well as

trinklets and souvenirs. Nearby Bodrum is also perfect

for shopping.

Activities: The stunning bay at Gumbet creates an idyllic

setting for a beach holiday in Turkey. Cafes and bars

edge the sandy bay and visitors can also enjoy boat trips,

try water sports or simply relax on a sunbed overlooking

the beautiful turquoise sea. Popular pursuits in Gumbet

include sailing, parasailing and windsurfing. A day trip to

Bodrum is a must as this busy resort has much to offer.

The medieval Castle of St Peter with its amazing maritime

museum is fascinating. Take a stroll through the marina

with its charming boutiques, elegant yachts and take a

break at the waterfront restaurants. As you might expect,

boat trips are widely available and you can even take your

passport and enjoy a trip to the nearby Greek island of

Kos. Few hours drive from Gumbet is Ephesus, one of the

best preserved archaeological sites in the world, which

shows examples of Roman life that are second only to

Pompeii.

Restaurants: Gumbet can truly be said to provide

food that caters for all tastes, from Chinese to

Indian, from Italian to Thai, from Mexican to

Japanese and from many other countries

in-between. There are of course a large number of

restaurants serving traditional Turkish fare which

is very tasty and includes stuffed peppers and vine

leaves, kebabs and of course feta cheese, olive

and tomato salads. Rice dishes are also popular.

Nightlife: Gumbet may be busy by day but at night

the place erupts with loud music. Flashing rope

lights outline the many bars, discos and clubs

sending invitations to those visitors looking for a

place to party. Here the young and veterans can

drink and dance the hours away until the sun rises

once again.
