Shopping: Take a dolmus bus ride, or a famous water

taxi into Fethiye where the weekly market is well

worth a visit and there are plenty of shops and stalls

to practice your bartering. Calis Beach itself has limited

shopping opportunities, but all the essentials.

Activities: Everything here revolves around the beach.

Along the long stretch of shingle, scores of sunloungers

await, whilst waterfront bars get ready to quench your

thirst. And should you feel energetic, you'll find

watersports like windsurfing and kite-surfing on a beach

just on the outskirts of Calis, that are made even better

by summer's offshore breezes. There's no shortage of

other activities on Calis Beach holidays. Take a boat to

Fethiye with its Crusader fortress and some impressive

4th century rock tombs can be visited. An amphitheatre

behind the tourist office is carefully being restored.

See the turtles at nearby Dalyan or trek through the

magnificent Salikent Gorge. Or if you're with the kids,

hightail it to the local waterpark. But make sure you're

back in Calis to see the sun set – a dazzling explosion of

pink and orange best enjoyed over ice-cold aperitifs.

Restaurants: There are a selection of restaurants in

Calis Beach serving either Turkish, seafood or

International menus. Lamb features heavily in Turkish

dishes - try a Shish kebab doused in salad and yoghurt

- a healthier and tastier version of those you can buy

back home.

Nightlife: Nightlife here is relatively low-key, since

the resort is aimed more for those looking for a

relaxing holiday by the beach although there are half

a dozen or so beach bars where you can watch the sunset

while sipping a cocktail or cold beer. Nearby Fethiye and

Hisaronu however provides vibrant nightlife if you ever feel

like a night out.
